One of TSPI’s initial inroads in the social dimension of community development  is found in Taguig, Rizal.  Together with funding from the Waterhope Foundation introduced to TSPI by WTRC, TSPI was able to construct, in mid 2010, a community center building and a water station, complete with water purification equipment.  The water station, which sells purified water under the brand, “WATER HOPE“, is intended to generate income, which will then be used to fund the community development projects of TSPI in Taguig.  The WATER HOPE station is also able to provide microenterprise opportunities to neighboring residents and TSPI clients who sign up as dealers of the WATER HOPE mineral water.

WTRC, or the Wholistic Transformation Resource Center, is a Christian NGO, that has been working very closely with TSPI to empower its transformational and holistic microenterprise development programs.  Together with WTRC and its affiliation with Waterhope Foundation, TSPI is planning to build additional Water Hope stations in Metro Manila.

The first TSPI Water Hope Station was constructed in Signal Village, Taguig City and started operations on July 2009 with just 10 dealers.  As of April, 2011, it already has 90 dealers with a target to reach 100 by the end of June 2011.  The station started selling only 670 containers but is now up to about 12,000 containers per month, and is already able to generate reasonable cashflow to support the Children’s Day Center Component of TSPI’s Community Development Program in that area.
