TWO CLIENTS VICTORIOUS IN CITI MICROENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Nanay Corazon B. Bautista of Taytay Branch is this year’s National Awardee for the Masikap category. Nanay Jocelyn C. De Guzman of Gapan, Nueva Ecija Branch emerged as the Luzon Regional Awardee for the same category.
The Citi MOTY Awards is a prestigious search for outstanding micro-entrepreneurs all over the country, with the objective of increasing awareness and appreciation for microfinance. The program, which has been successfully running for nine years now, also provides incentives to winning micro-entrepreneurs. Winners of this search are entitled to receive a 3-year life and health insurance, entrepreneurship and financial literacy training and cash prizes. This awards program is borne out of the fruitful partnership between the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Citi Philippines and the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) and is funded by the Citi Foundation.

For this year’s Citi MOTY Awards, fifteen entries were submitted by TSPI. Three made it to the Semi-Finals stage – one for the Maunlad category (for entrepreneurs with assets worth Php 300,000-1 million) and two for the Masikap category (for entrepreneurs with assets worth below Php 300,000). The Citi MOTY officials announced the winners last October 19 and will be awarded on November 23.
