The Joy of Serving in the Midst of the Pandemic!

– by Ma. Cristina Oribello, TSPI HR Specialist*

A lot of changes occurred in the midst of the pandemic, such as closure of businesses, loss of jobs and overall decline of the economy.  During this time, I learned and strive to deepen my relationship with Christ and to spread the Good News. It is for this reason and through the prompting of the Holy Spirit that I was able to start a Children’s Ministry last July 2020 right in our backyard.

It all started when I noticed some children frequenting our yard to play.  One day, I asked the kids if they wanted to learn about Jesus.  To my surprise, they accepted the invite with smiles on their faces.  We started with a pack of six children which later grew to thirty.  All of them are now actively attending the fellowship every Sunday. What is amazing, is that they themselves are the ones inviting their playmates to join and learn. It eventually became a full-fledged “Sunday School.” My heart is full of joy in seeing how they continuously grow in their knowledge about Jesus and how they start to apply what they have learned.

Many thanks to our local church, “Christian Fellowship Center”, brothers and sisters in faith and the willing parents of the children. Thank you so much to them and to our LORD Jesus Christ. Glory to His name!
